Big Ambitions Warehouse Setup: A Working Supply Chain

Start with the stores the warehouse must supply

Write down which stores will use the warehouse and every product they need. Include shared consumables as well as the items customers buy. This gives the project a measurable purpose: replacing repeated supply trips for a known group of businesses. A large empty building does not solve purchasing or distribution by itself.

Use current sales to estimate how much inventory those stores consume between supplier deliveries. Keep money available for the first order and ongoing wages after paying for the premises and equipment. Compare the complete expense with the time saved and the additional stock the network makes available. There is no verified universal profit threshold at which every save should open a warehouse.

Prepare the building, storage and vehicle

Open the premises as a warehouse and install pallet shelving before its first receipt. Check the building’s vehicle spaces, then bring in a delivery vehicle and assign an eligible Delivery Driver in the warehouse management screen. The official forum’s March 2023 setup walkthrough documents this basic chain; use the present interface for equipment requirements and assignments.

Plan around the actual assortment. Products arrive in different box quantities, so a list of unit targets is not a complete storage plan. Inspect each product’s packaging and the free capacity of your shelves. Leave room for the incoming order rather than assuming that goods will leave early enough to make space.

Connect purchasing to the correct receiving site

A Purchasing Agent needs a headquarters workstation and an importer relationship. A developer’s March 2023 reply describes assigning the agent at HQ before visiting an importer to make the contract. In the current purchasing plan, verify the actual receiving warehouse and the exact products, amounts and order options before confirming.

Choose Smart Delivery when you want a refill toward a target; enable recurring ordering separately when that refill should repeat. A developer clarified the two independent controls in October 2025. A recurring fixed order can accumulate stock, while Smart without recurrence does not establish a permanent weekly order. Start with quantities whose cost and storage needs you can easily check.

Add one shop and confirm the first delivery

Open the headquarters Logistics Manager plan, select the warehouse and add a shop destination. Set positive product targets that match the shop’s needs and available space. The March 2026 developer explanation confirms that a warehouse route fills toward the destination target, so the entered amount is not an extra shipment of that size every time.

Use one product as your initial check. Note its source stock, destination stock and saved target, then inspect the destination after the delivery event. Check the whole shop inventory instead of looking only for boxes in the back room: a March 2026 developer reply says receipts fill displays before storage. Once this transfer works, add the rest of the assortment and destinations.

Keep the two delivery schedules in view

In May 2026 the developer specified daily internal deliveries at 02:00 and ordinary imports on Monday at 08:00. Monday distribution therefore occurs before that morning’s imported stock arrives. Retain enough warehouse inventory for the earlier run; a later full warehouse does not disprove a shortage warning issued before the import.

If you also manufacture goods, retain the warehouse stage. The developer confirmed in February 2026 that factories send goods to warehouses or export them, and warehouses distribute to stores. For a failure, trace one item from its source to its destination: missing receipt, missing assignment, low target and insufficient receiving space require different corrections. Record the warning time before changing the plan.
