Big Ambitions Multiplayer: Co-op and Mod Status

Can two people run the same business?

The official game has no shared online campaign, local co-op mode, or supported multiplayer session to join. Buy the base game for its single-player business simulation. There is no official player limit or server setup to explain because that mode is not offered.

If running a company together is essential to your group, choose a game whose store page explicitly lists the co-op mode you want. Being able to discuss layouts, compare results, or share content does not mean your characters can manage one business in the same city.

The developer's more recent answer is no

On March 13, 2025, Jonas Hovgaard said multiplayer would require extensive rewriting and take development time away from content and the endgame. His stated focus for Big Ambitions was single-player. David Estes Creations reiterated the lack of multiplayer plans on March 10, 2026.

Jonas also mentioned multiplayer for a future release, game, or sequel. That comment does not identify an announced product or turn Big Ambitions 1.0 into a co-op release. It should not be presented as a multiplayer update date for this game.

Why older guides say multiplayer might arrive

In August 2021, Jonas discussed adding multiplayer after release if sales supported it. A March 2023 developer reply described the roadmap entry as a possibility. Those early comments explain the expectation, but later answers address the question more directly.

When assessing an old guide, look for the date of the developer statement it uses. A page refreshed recently can still be repeating a 2021 idea. The latest page timestamp alone does not make the underlying plan current.

Does Steam Workshop add multiplayer?

Official mod support arrived with EA 0.11. In that announcement, the team acknowledged community projects, including multiplayer experiments. Supporting a way to load and share mods is different from developing and supporting a co-op mode themselves.

For any community multiplayer project, check its own release notes for your exact game version, installation requirements, supported activities, and known save limitations. This page has not tested a multiplayer mod or established that a particular build works with 1.0. A demonstration of one mod build is not proof that every shop, vehicle, or time-control feature works in your save.

Did 1.0 add co-op? The current official feature list still describes a single-player game, and the developer statements above do not announce co-op for 1.0.

Can I host an official dedicated server? No official server mode is offered. Instructions from a mod project apply only to that project.

Is a multiplayer DLC confirmed? No such DLC is confirmed by these sources. Player suggestions in the discussion are requests, not a product announcement.

Can Steam Cloud or Family Sharing enable co-op? Those store features do not establish a shared multiplayer game mode.
